Musharraf’s power hunger has led to a catastrophic scenario in Pakistan. His policies are turning Pakistan into another Afghanistan, creating a situation that needs everybody’s serious scrutiny. Nevertheless, now the arena for the Presidential election is set and with that begins the counterfeit stakes and promises, but how Pakistan will respond to it is a contentious issue.
One bad decision, sacking chief justice, and total debacle of Pakistan and his own repute, can there be better example than Musharraf. Still, no lesson taken from that mistake and mistake followed one after the other that even eclipsed his good deeds. Musharraf is reaping what he sowed. He finally succumbed to hung-up his army boots provided he will be given second term as the president? And he will only shed his uniform before taking oath as the president. Can you believe that?
Well, Musharraf cheated the world and US, Afghanistan, and India repeatedly with his duel role. Now being the universal cheater - one may call him for his actions - is he worth trusting? Additionally, he knows pretty well that he is powerful only in army robe, then would he like to become a lame duck, is a question, over which everyone interested in Politics is pondering over and doubtful about.
To play with the law is Musharraf’s favorite sport, he has amended the constitution time and again to suit himself. Therefore, after becoming the President, he will not hesitate to do that again. Even after this episode, if Pakistan believes him and his crooked promises what will become of Pakistan?
