'We do not torture' - Bush. Liar! Liar! Pants on Fire!

US President George W Bush says the US Government is aggressively taking action to protect Americans from terrorism but “we do not torture”.

Dubya has responded to criticism of reported secret Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) prisons and the handling of terrorism suspects and defended his administration’s efforts to stop the US Congress from imposing rules on the handling of terrorism suspects.

However, we do not believe him after seeing what the Guantanamo returnees described about the conditions and treatment of the prisoners there. It doesn’t stop there with reports from Afghanistan and Iraq about the brutal treatment that was meted out to prisoners resulting in many deaths. The case of Muhammad, a taxi driver in Afghanistan, who was brutally tortured to death and the pictures emerging from Abu Ghraib were particularly sickening.

What makes Bush think that the world would believe him? Latest reports of the CIA running illegal prisoners worldwide to detain terror suspects for infinitely long periods without access to the outside world too suggest that Dubya has made himself sound like a shameless liar.
