US has never bothered about any international bondage to implement its whimsical decisions whether it’s Afghanistan or Iraq. Thereafter when it comes to Pakistan, the equation hardly changes. US has given authority to its military to chase terrorists in Pakistan three years ago without Pakistani affirmation or telling it in advance.

Due to political crises and some bad decisions by army president Musharraf, Pakistan is already battling with the ongoing chaotic political situation. Amid such upheaval if US chases militants, it’ll be a catastrophic action likely to jolt the country. On the other hand, Pakistani military spokesman calls it nonsense and said that Pakistan never allowed the coalition forces to enter into its territory while chasing militants.

The situation in Pakistan is different from Afghanistan or Iraq. Here the area (Waziristan) is only subject to federal law under Pakistan. Any military adventurer in that area, I am afraid, will hardly produce propitious results and that too without Pakistani or tribal help, it’s impossible.

What you sow so shall you reap. This is the best saying when it comes to Musharraf. He’s responsible for the crises in Pakistan which are due to his dual role: with US, to get mammoth financial aid for being the firm ally in ‘war against terror’ and at the same time sheltering terrorists with the assurance to the world that he’ll not allow Pakistani territory to be used for terrorist activities. Sill, as far as international norms are concerned, it requires Pakistani ‘yes’ before attacking in its territories.

Finally, the decision of striking the militants perhaps will be pending till the new face occupies the White House. Bush administration has already faced vital criticism for inconclusive Iraq and Afghanistan war and will not risk facing the same at present while keeping in mind party’s perspectives in Presidential election.
