In the world of conflict and dispute, its now the time when the countries are competing in the race for ‘Which is the most unstable country in the world?’. And the answer to this question seems to be delivered by a Risk Assessment Group, referred to as a British-based Jane’s Information group which very explicitly asserts that Afghanistan is the most unstable country at present after the Gaza Strip and Somalia. With the assessment of 235 countries by the group, Vatican City ranked the most stable of all and the Unites States of America ranking as the 22nd most stable country.
With the Middle East crisis and the terrorism and violence preponderating the world, it seems that even Iraq has an edge over other countries in this, thanks to the US military and peacekeeping force in the region. Iraq surprisingly stood out on number 22 surrounded by African countries.
Iraq is more stable than Afghanistan
said Christian Le Miere, the Managing Director of Jane’s Country Risk Assessment group. Iraq in the present scenario has the advantage of other main points like the abode of international peacekeeping force and booming economy that has elevated due to the rising oil prices. Comparisons of these factors with Afghanistan have led to it being classified under an unstable category.
Afghanistan’s government’s jurisdiction and control is judged as lacking the necessary force and vehemence, and apart from this its economy has no role to play in the country becoming self reliant. With the dominance of the Taliban and Al-Qaeda, the terror stricken country has primarily nothing to fall back on. It can only be hoped that the countries of the world can aim to end their unstable status through something.
