
Thai armed forces have put Thailand under martial law after a bloodless coup yesterday. The military has suspended the constitution of the country.
They had a metting with the King Bhumibol Adulyade to start a new process for the formation of an alternate government.

The Prime Minister, Thakshin Shinawatra, is in New York to attend the United Nations General Assembly. He declared a state of emergency in the country and sacked Thailands’s army chief.

The Army, Navy and Air Force joined hands to form what they call the Thai Revolution committee to oust Shinawatra.

The army has also declared General Sonthi as the acting prime minister with the King Bhumibol Adulyade still remaining supreme.
A Retired Lieutenant-General, Prapart Sakuntanak, has announced on the television network about the dismissal of the government by the armed forces. The Thai army took control of Bangkok and immediately announced a commission to reform the country’s 1997-constitution.
Further, he said that this take over is temporary to oust Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra and the power will return to the people soon.
The army tanks are rolling in Bangkok and laid blockade to the Government House.

Thai coup leaders announced on today morning that the four regional army commanders have been appointed by the army to keep the peace in the country and to run civil administration in their respective areas.
