After a moderately calm winter, Afghanistan looks set for yet another volatile spring as radical attacks and military operations have amplified in last few weeks in the militancy-hit county.

There seems no respite for allied forces in Afghanistan as Taliban has opened up another impulsive offensive on government and NATO forces in the volatile region.

Qari Yousef Ahmadi, a supposed Taliban spokesman, yesterday talking from a secret place proclaimed the beginning of a new operation named ‘Kamin’ or ‘Ambush’, which will include familiar Taliban tactics such as suicide bombs, remote-controlled bombs and surprise attacks. Ahmadi asserted,

In this operation, we will target our enemies and use our tactics - suicide bombs, remote-controlled (roadside bombs) and ambushes - against occupying forces and the government. We start this operation today in all of Afghanistan.

The militants begin the new operation with the death of two policemen in a bombshell attack in the unstable southern region. On Saturday, the Taliban ambushed a police convoy in Kandahar, and killed at least two policemen, while three others were injured in an one-hour long armed encounter.

In another sadistic incident in Afghanistan, at least five children were blown up by an unexploded bomb, they were playing with.
