Nine policemen killed and several other injured in a suicide bomb attack on a group of police officers in Kunduz Province in north Afghanistan on Monday. The suicide attack was third in last three days in Afghanistan and all were aimed at police officers and security guards

Muhammad Omar, the governor of Kunduz Province said on the incident that the suicide bomber was wearing a black turban and ran toward the group of policemen on the main road outside their base. As he reached near to them, he blew himself up.

The suicide attack happened before 9 am just outside a district police station in Kunduz. According to the reports, the northern part of Afghanistan is comparatively more peaceful than the other parts of the country. Earlier, Kunduz Province had suffered one such suicide bombing in last year.

Further, the police arrested a man with remote control equipment and he was reportedly planning to attack somewhere in the area.

Hayatullah Khan, said to be a Taliban commander, has taken the blame for Monday Suicide attack. He further said that more suicide bombers are present in all Afghan cities and waiting for orders to strike anywhere in the country.
