Defying a Supreme Court order, President General Pervez Musharraf sent commandos to Islamabad airport yesterday and tossed out his archrival Nawaz Sharif hours after he returned from a seven-year exile in hopes of a political comeback.
Analysts say banning Sharif’s homecoming was a short-term fix that ultimately revealed the weakness of Musharraf, who is facing an increasingly disillusioned electorate ahead of national polls. It’s clear that “Sharif drama” is blow to Mushrraf govt.
