The relations between US and Pakistan have started souring with counter allegations from either side that are gradually leading to fierce altercations on the al-Qaeda refuge in Pakistan and controversies sparked with Obama’s comment to strike terrorists irrespective of Pakistan’s assent.

Now the mud slinging has begin between US and its most firm ally in ‘war on terror’ and the senior official in Pakistan’s foreign ministry blamed that prolonged stay of NATO forces is equally responsible for the rising al-Qaeda strength in Waziristan.

Amid the rising fear of US attack on terrorists, Pakistan has entreated UK and US to plan an ‘exit strategy’ from Afghanistan, because NATO troops casualties are rising, its strategies to uproot terrorists are failing one after the other, and civilian casualties are increasing in the operations against terrorists.

Well, as US report says that al-Qaeda is mushrooming and gaining the momentum then, is it really time to entreat US and UK to leave the country - of course not. Pakistani urge shows that it fearing of probable US attack that can further unnerve the country which is already battling with the internal conflicts.

Furthermore, if US considers Pakistan’s request and leaves Afghanistan then, al-Qaeda will find its lost refuge and Govt. in Afghanistan is too weak to encounter any terror uprising and this will lead the country to anarchy and total chaos.

Nevertheless, with the internal conflicts and threats of US maneuvering to strike Waziristan, Pakistan should girdle up its loin to fight against terrorists who are friends to none. On the other side, it’s time for Pakistan to prove the credibility of its vow, whereby it assured the world time and again that it’ll not allow its territory to be used for terror activities. Well, Pakistan needs to take a tough action against al-Qaeda, which of course, is a herculean task, but not insurmountable.
