The fiendish claws of terrorism are gripping the whole world with rampant pace and the Philippine is not an exception where more than 1700 civilians are killed or injured due to the lethal Islamic violence since 2000, wherein 400 deaths are the highest in a South Asian nation.

The extremists had caused havoc in the country and there are instances when the hundreds of civilians killed and mention here must be made of bombing of a passenger ship in Manila bay in Feb. 2004 and Bali bombings in Oct. 2004 that killed 116 and 204 people respectively.

Moreover, the striking is the number of dead and wounded goes beyond the number of casualties that are reported in terrorist attacks in Indonesia, Morocco, Spain, Turkey or above all in Britain at the same space of time.

However, the Philippine was the only country in the region that didn’t have the anti-terror law till last week, but now the Govt. realized the need of law against terrorism and put in effect its Human Security Act (HSA) to curb the menace.

Well, how effectively the law against the terrorism will be - remains to be seen and opposition Philippines party is even skeptic about the success of law, however, the amendments can be made therein according to the requirement and it’s better to have a law than no law against terrorism and hopefully it’ll curb the terrorism, to some extent at least.

Finally, what after all these so-called Jihadis will achieve with their wicked mechanizations to plot against the innocent people - one never knows? Moreover, what about those so called supporters of morality and religion who are instigating the ignorant people for heinous crimes in the name of Jihad? These are some insoluble puzzles that need logical answers, but who to put answers forth - None.
