
Once again, the verbal war over religion is likely to shake the world. The Pope Benedict XVI, on September 12, during a lecture at the University of Regensburg, southeast Germany, co-related Islam with violence.
This statement once again irked the Muslim community all over the world. The Pakistani National Assembly also called on the Pope to apologize for the comment he made about Islam.
The Pakistani National Assembly collectively approved a resolution and faxed the statement calling on Benedict to immediate withdraw the comment to avoid any kind of conflict between Muslims and Christians.
The resolution says as, the events, which are becoming known after 9/11 attack; have already caused rifts between the followers of two religion. This kind of offensive statement will definitely make the situation worse.
After the Pakistani resolution, the other Muslim groups worldwide criticized the comment of the Pope. According to NTV news channel, Ali Bardakoglu, head of Turkey’s state-run religious affairs directorate, has called the pope’s comments as provoking, aggressive and biased.
