Pakistani Military has reportedly demolished many of the militant bases in the southern part of Balochistan. The security forces used helicopter gunship strikes to destroy the camps, which are said to be as training camps for militants.
More than six aircraft struck the area that is called as the strongholds of ethnic Baloch rebels. These rebels are consistently fighting with Pakistani forces in the Dera Bugti district and its adjoining areas.
However, any official information about the number of causalities are yet not confirmed. The military operation had started on Friday morning.
According to the militant spokesperson, Balochistan Liberation Army’s fighters have also gunned down one of the helicopter. They have killed more than a dozen troops during the operation.
At the same time, the ongoing broader operations against Taliban fighters are also said to be launching attacks from the border regions of Balochistan into Afghanistan.
The United Nations has reported that in this fighting, about 84,000 persons have been displaced and many people are facing starvation. However, the Pakistani government has approved a million- dollar UNICEF-led aid program for the people of this area.
