Today while going through a news, ‘Could Pakistan fall to extremists’, on Yahoo by Mark Sappenfield and David Montero, I really felt gruesome to know that someone still needs to make out that Pakistan is falling to extremists, ridiculous!
Pakistan had undoubtedly fallen in the hands of terrorists long before it was actually presumed - still people are caught unaware. It is not an exaggeration but a reality that Pakistan needs to accept, of course, that a dictator who is no less than a terrorist, (Musharraf) occupies the highest post of the country forcibly.
It is evident repeatedly by Musharraf’s decisions that he took to ward off anything and everything that came in his way - first he sacked the chief justice of Pakistan who could have posed a threat to his ambition to become president for the second time while remaining the army chief simultaneously and secondly he put stringent restrictions on media to stem its flux to reach common masses.
Musharraf betrayed Afghanistan, India, US and above all the international community with his promises of not allowing his territory to be used for terrorist activities. Still, terrorists enjoy safe heaven in Pakistan to carry out their nefarious activities against India and Afghanistan. To US’s dismay - that has been paying millions of dollars for its assistance in war against terror, Pakistan is still going great guns.
Here, what is a person who knowingly provides shelter to terrorist called? A terrorist, of course. Still someone needs a proof?
