
The Pakistani military has claimed to destroy a madrasa in the Bajur tribal area near Afghanistan border. They claimed that the madrasa was actually being used to train militants.
In the Pakistan military operation, some 83 people are reported to be killed. However, there was no any official confirmation came out about the count of dead militants.
The Pakistan Military used helicopter gunships during the operation. The madrasa was running by local cleric Maulvi Liaqut who had been accused of hiding local and foreign militants. He is also reported to be killed in the operation.
Two days before the military strike, thousands of tribal militants had organized a protest rally against US and its supportive Pakistani administration.
The spokesperson of Pakistan military, Maj Gen Shaukat Sultan, said that
they have confirmed report of hiding of almost 80 militants in the madrasa. There were no children or women inside the madrasa. This operation has done by Pakistani Military and there was no any role of US or NATO troops there.
On the other hand, The Guardian has reported that several children, one of them was seven-yr-old, were found in the rubble.
