Pakistani film Exhibitors now want to that the thirty years old ban to release Indian movies in Pakistan.
According to them, this is the necessary step to stimulate the deteriorating affluence of the film industry in Pakistan.

The Qazi Faez Isa has argued that the ban is irrational. It has resulted in closing of more than 925 cinemas in Pakistan.
He cited the quote of Dawn saying as
the industry is in a crisis and the court can take judicial notice of the consequences of an unreasonable ban.
The court has asked from the lawyer, the Advocate-General Anwar Mansoor Khan to decide two petitions moved by the Pakistan Film Exhibitors Association and Mahboob Pictures for permission to import and screen Indian movies.
Earlier, Mahmood Mandviala, the lawyer of the association, has submitted the documents, which show that there was no restriction whatsoever on import and exhibition of Pakistani films in India.
He said further that 55 per cent of the price of a cinema ticket went to public coffers and the exhibition of Indian films would generate public revenue.
However, all manners of Indian movies are being aired on cable TV, even by Pakistani TV channels, but no taxes are being earned and no jobs are being created.
Pakistan has been banned screening of Indian movies in theaters in Pakistan. On the other hand, the Pakistani people do like Indian movies most and the business of pirated CDs of Indian movies is making good money in the country.
