The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) has confirmed the Country’s first underground nuclear test without any radiation leak by using 100% local technology.

According to South Korea’s Yonhap news agency, the test took place in Gilju in Hamgyong province at 10:36 (01:36 GMT). A seismic wave of magnitude-3.58 had been detected in North Hamkyung province.

The North Korean state news agency, KCNA, said, The scientific research team in the DPRK (North Korea’s official name) successfully conducted an underground nuclear test on October 9. This is a historic event that brought happiness to our military and people.

According to a US military official, something has happened in that region and the Pentagon is working confirm the KCNA report. We believed the test took place, citing seismic data that appeared to show one.
