After initial hiccups and kinks in the long simmering dispute of IAEA and N.Korea over dismantling nuclear reactors, the final breakthrough is a far cry, despite a ray of hope that originated from release of funds after which N.Korea calls in the IAEA experts.

N.Korean sincerity is on check as it has promised to dismantle its nuclear reactors after the release of funds. Therefore, the need of the hour is to kick-start the February 13 accord whereby N.Korea had agreed to discard the nuclear aspirations in return for a US incentive package. The prolonged dispute was due to $25 million frozen in Macau bank. N.Korea has set the release of the funds as a precondition for starting the dialogue.

N. Korea has taken a positive step ahead but the momentum should keep going. Calling in IAEA experts will help put checks on the proliferations and that will definitely solve many prevalent issues between US and Russia, particularly a standoff on missile defense (MD).

The rift is because of US plans to install MD in Europe to ward off the nuclear offensive from Islamist Iran and Russia defying it as a threat to its sovereignty. Nevertheless, what most importantly is needed - is to block the proliferation of nuclear knowhow to Iran because N.Korea and Iran have close relations and this can result in a latest entry to the school of nuclear warhead equipped nations - adding more woe to the world.
