Finally, Pervez Musharraf admits that Pakistan breeds sympathy, compassion and support for Al Qaeda and the Taliban.
Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf on a visit in Afghanistan, sided with Afghan President Hamid Karzai’s cries over the years that Pakistan breeds terror on its soil. All these years, Mr Karzai got a firm denial from his Pakistan counterpart, but General Musharraf’s statement that his country’s bordering areas with Afghanistan find many Taliban supporters, goes totally opposite to his earlier reprisals.

Everyone is aware that Pakistan is the breeding ground for terrorism with Al Qaeda and Taliban finding it a safe haven. Schools, madrasas, and tribal areas in Pakistan breed and transport terror across borders, be it Afghanistan or India.
Ever since the choke ‘em out policy of war on terror by the U.S. started in Afghanistan, it has been largely found that the terrorists easily sneaked into Pakistan and found in it a safe haven. Making the most of the situation, the Taliban and Al Qaeda militants regrouped and once again started their jihad against peace.
President Musharraf’s admission comes as a startling note urging us to question his country’s credibility in the war on terror all these years.
So, does it mean the peace jirga is sounding peace bells for Afghan and Pakistan relations? Let’s wait and watch.
