The experts from China and Nepal would examine whether the Mt Everest, the world’s tallest peak, is still growing or not. The groups of the experts from both the countries have gathered in Nepal.

They will conduct a survey to find out the exact height of the the mountain peak of Everest. The current height of Everest is 8,848 metre.

The decision of going for a new survey has taken by the the Joint Inspection Committee of Nepal-China borders. Some experts had earlier made a claim that the mountain has gone as many as two ft more and has been reached to a new height to 8,850 metre.

The JIC of Nepal-China borders have just concluded its fourth session. During the session, both the Nepali and Chinese experts have agreed to work on addressing the incompatibility of new data of boundary markers with data of the old map attached in the 1979 protocol.

Bhamindra Aryal, under secretary at the ministry of foreign affairs said that the inappropriateness of data is due to the use of new technology in survey and mapping.

Now, if the new data will work according to the assumption of the experts, the height of the mountain will go up by two fts.
