One wonders how a man in his sanity can ever use the kind of language that Pakistani President General Pervez Musharraf did while responding to some media posers with regard to the case of Mukhtaran Mai, in Washington recently.
Making utterances like ‘the women of Pakistan deliberately get raped just to get visas to travel to the West...’ is not just an extremely irresponsible conduct on the part of the Pak ‘Head of the Nation’, it is also tantamount to passing a highly contemptuous remark against the womenfolk of that country in general.
That instead of realising that sufferings and pain of a rape victim are a result of someone else’s crime, President Musharraf chose to make a mockery of an already traumatised person proves that he has either lost his sanity or is on the verge of it.
