It was recently pointed out that Bangladesh is being run by Mafioso-style leaders who do not care for the poor. Terrorists wax eloquent about the larger causes they profess to espouse, only to choose murder as the right path to silence all opposition. Bangla Bhai had used Bangladesh’s orphans to attract Saudi aid but ultimately it was found that he helped his own relatives with that money. Now The Times of India reports that Lashkar-e-Taiba, a Pakistani militant outfit, is going all out to channelize funds meant for cyclone relief work in the recently devastated Bangladesh.
A cursory glance at these efforts of Lashkar-e-Taiba will reveal very interesting facts:
a) Natural disasters make hundreds parentless. Kids are naturally loyal and tend to remember kindnesses longer that adults. Moreover they substitute the helper for the dead parents. A sort of blind faith lulls the orphaned kids into serving the concerned adults. The child feels that if she is not good to her mentor then she risks the loss of that mentor. Hence a heartless, scripture-quoting demonic group like the Lashkar-e-Taiba would rather be present in a disaster zone than in a normal city. Disrupted lives draw evil men fast. Here the terrorists can fool kids to serve their cause of death, rape and murder.
b) Wherever there are destitute kids and disasters, there can be used the human factor of international aid. This aid factor is tied up with the perceived kindness of the helping nations. So if a nation freely chooses to donate less, then the grand narratives of power are such that the nation’s own intellectuals start berating their own country. This is exactly what the terrorists want. The more money pours into disaster zones, the merrier it is for them .So Lashkar wins hands on being present in broken Bangladesh.
c) It is well acknowledged by all truly holy men, including the great Sufi poet, Rumi, that the Evil One loves to talk of good things. What better time to ask for charity in the name of the poor marooned Bangladeshis, while always invoking the names of Allah? This way kind and holy Muslims will unstintingly donate. And instead of that money going to feed the poor, it will buy luxuries for the terrorists. Incidentally, young men are increasingly becoming terrorists not because of any deeply held beliefs but rather to work as paid mercenaries of various terror outfits. The terror field is a competitive field. There are pay packets to be considered and the Lashkar is just building up its coffers in Bangladesh. And did I tell you that the Lashkar is owned by Saudis? Neo-colonization of the Indian sub-continent by Saudi Arabia has started. And we are misled to distrust our Pakistani and Bangladeshi brothers.
It is noble to ask for charities for the powerless people of this blighted earth. But it is definitely not charity to use that money to blow away people for some sadistic, barely repressed psycho-sexual fun.
