Iran is planning to continue the construction of a 40-megawatt heavy water nuclear reactor that is now under construction. The US and other western nations were feared that Iran might use the reactor to produce the plutonium to make atomic weapons.

On the other hand, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) took a decision to reject Iran’s call for technical help for building the heavy-water reactor. However, the IAEA has left option for Iran to renew its proposal.

Manouchehr Mottaki
, Iran’s Foreign Minister said that Iran is the signatory to the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty (NPT). Iran has been said so many times that its nuclear programs are for peaceful process. Now, IAEA should provide technical assistance to Iran.

Mottaki said that
