
Dilawar Khan Wazir, BBC journalist for Urdu service was missing in Pakistan. He had gone for reporting in the tribal areas near Afghanistan border where security forces are fighting with Talibani and Al-Qaeda militants.
Now, the international media watchdogs had asked Pakistani government to investigate about the disappearance of the BBC journalist.
Several reporters in Pakistan on many occasions have been disappeared, abducted or killed over recent years that had gone to the troubled border areas in Pakistan.
Dilawar Khan Wazir, who is also reporter of Pakistan’s Dawn newspaper, was missing after when he had a meeting with his brother in Islamabad on Monday.
The Paris-based Reporters Without Borders had said in a statement that the conditions of his disappearance cause fear about his abduction.
Earlier, Hayatullah Khan, another prominent journalist was abducted. He had reported about the death of an al-Qaeda leader by a US missile.
This report had contradicted the government’s statement, which had said that the militant had been killed when explosives exploded near him at his place.
UPDATE: > Further, report came of the release of the BBC journalist on Wednesday. Dilawar, BBC journalist said that unknown attackers had abducted him on Monday when he was on a visit to Rawalpindi.
