With military rule in Pakistan and Burma, political upheavals in Bangladesh, LTTE rebels causing panic in Sri Lanka, terrorism in India, never ending (as it seems) terrorism in Afghanistan, majority of the Asian nations are struggling against terrorism or autocracy either. However, the autocratic rule which is at the verge of ending in Nepal is now in doldrums, because the Maoists have quit the coalition Govt. when their demand to declare Himalayan kingdom a republic wasn’t adhered.

However, November 22, was the date that Nepalese interim Govt. had decided for the legislative elections; but, the present move has jolted what would have been a milestone in the peace process between interim govt. and rebels for ending the autocracy. Now what will become of Nepal as the rebels has put both election and peace process in limbo.

So what you will call this action: a decision in helter-skeltering mood to hit your foot with your own blow of axe. Of course, but was it really needed? No way, at such crucial point when the nation is in making - and is near to get rid-off despotic Monarchy - they should have waited atleast till the election or the constitution comes in force. So, by doing that the rebels have not only jolted the peace process, but its prospects to join the political mainstream as being the part of government, and the credit in making of the nation as well.
