dawood ibrahim

One of the world’s most secretive and deadly gangsters, Dawood Ibrahim was reportedly injured in a gunfight in a Karachi hotel on Monday. Though officially, the Pakistan government denies the presence of Dawood on its soil, its widely believed that Dawood, who has been India’s most wanted gangster, has sought refuge in Karachi.

On Monday he was engaged in a bout of gambling at the hotel Regent Crown Plaza when he got into a scuffle with his gambling mates Firoz Gitto, Firoz Dausa and Black Prince resulting in the subsequent gunfight which injured his left leg. It is believed that at the time 7 to 8 of Pakistan’s secret service-the Inter Service Intelligence (ISI) agents were positioned in the upper basement parking of the hotel.

Dawood Ibrahim, who was born ‘Dawood Ibrahim Kaskar’ in the Ratnagiri district of Maharashtra(INDIA), is the main accused in the 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts, which killed more than 200 people and India has been trying to extradite him from Pakistan since then.

It should also be noted with interest that the United States had recently asked the Pakistanis to hand him over to them for his links with the Al Qaida.

Dawood is now reported to have returned to his home ‘Clifton Kahakasha’ but the extent of his injuries is not yet clear.
