Protesters blocking the highway
Mob enraged on civilian casualties:

Four militants were among the killed, however; the death of the civilians infuriated the mob that went on to chant slogans against Bush and Karzai. Protesters carried five bodies to the road and blocked the highway. The civilians grieved against the coalition forces to attack the civilians even after the Afghan government’s reiterated plea to minimize the civilian casualties.

Civilian casualties will give air to the growing distrust among the Afghan. Coalition forces, on the other side said that they returned fire only after being fired upon and seized several guns and bomb-making materials.

The terrorist violence seems unlikely to end soon in Afghanistan. There is the need of intra and international cooperation to eradicate the menace. I think there should be zero tolerance for terrorist activities and the coalition-Afghan efforts to curb the terrorist violence should be applauded provided there would be least civilian casualties.
