
The Former Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina has said that her party will boycott the upcoming parliamentary elections in the country. Since last one month, the Bangladesh political parties are protesting against the government for not working according to the recent political reforms in the nation.
The decision of Hasina has further deepened the political crisis in the nation that was happening since last month. There were many street clashes reported from various parts of the nation.
Hasina is leading the protest of the newly formed alliance of 19 parties against the government. She has criticized the ruling caretaker government for attempting unfair voting practices to win the coming parliamentary elections.

As many as 34 people have been killed during the various street clashes between supporters of the rival political alliances in Bangladesh. Later, President Iajuddin Ahmed was called the army to help the administration to maintain law and order.
Continuous nationwide strike calls have blocked transportation in the country. Hasina has further called for another strike and complete block of transportation in coming days.
Hasina said that the caretaker government is not neutral. The voting must be postponed until reforms are completed. The caretaker administration is biased in favor of our opponents. So we are not going to the polls scheduled on Jan 22.
After the announcement, the 19-party alliance started pulling its candidates from the election process.
On the other hand, the Election Commission said that the elections would go according to the schedule. Moreover, the four-party political alliance led by the rival Bangladesh Nationalist Party has declared that it would participate in the elections.
