nuclear blast

General Musharraf will hold elections on January 9, 2008, under national emergency conditions. The US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has eagerly welcomed this statement. She is scared stiff. Just in case Pakistan’s nuclear weapons pass into the wrong hands the US will be left naked to long-distance terrorist attacks. Make no mistake, neither President Bush or Ms Rice is interested in knowing what happens to the people of Pakistan.

Lt. Gen. Carter Ham of the Pentagon recently expressed his grave concerns about Pakistani atomic-weapons. He pointed out that Northern Pakistan is no longer under Musharraf’s control. Pakistani-Talibans and extremist-Pashtuns run the show there.

So what is the real situation in Pakistan today?

i) Sex-tapes in the hands of the government have effectively gagged any further judicial action in Pakistan. The Law does not exist there anymore. Thus the required control over nuclear weapons is no more. Ironically, those in the Pakistani military today have track-records of being terrorists and sympathizers of fundamentalist-Islamic beliefs.

ii) The al-Qaeda, now settled in Pakistan, under state patronage is biding its time. Musharraf is in a vicious trap now — he continues Emergency after Jan 9, 2008, he risks antagonizing the US. Musharraf likes to be known as a toady of the US. If he ends the Emergency, he risks certain murder. Pakistan’s political history is typical of a nation which patronizes terrorism. Assassinations and military coups are normal here.

iii) While we are focusing on the President of Pakistan, and terrorism, fundamentalists are Talibanizing the nations. It is possible that there will never be any nuclear warfare. Osama’s Arab mercenaries may be violent but are not foolish. With the native-cunning such people have, they understand that nuclear disasters will finally finish them off.

Terrorist-leaders throughout the world show great love for life while they teach others to sacrifice. Osama bin Laden is still alive while he sends others to martyrdom. Nuclear war, I reiterate is unlikely but like Damocles’ sword will hang over all of us.

Pakistan has never been independent. The Arabs took it for their own long ago and now are hell-bent to remove Musharraf. CNN and other American media can rant on, it does not matter. The Arab colonizers want to have proxy-nuclear arsenals in their kitties. Then they can settle the world’s hash.
