Taliban released the two ill South Korean women hostages of a total of 21 from their captivity, as a goodwill gesture. Can’t believe, it was a goodwill gesture from the brutal masters.
The 21 South Korean hostages have been in Taliban captivity in Ghazni, Afghanistan. Taliban demands release of its militant brothers in prison in exchange of the Korean hostages. While two male hostages were earlier butchered, two female Korean hostages have been released after having talks with the Korean negotiators, and the fate of the remaining 19 remains in doubt.
However, the talks between the Taliban and the negotiators ended in a deadlock, the only positive point coming out is the release of the two ill hostages. While we all wish that the remaining hostages come out from the Taliban clutches, get their freedom and see the daylight, what will happen remains a question mark because of the Taliban having a history of brutality.
While the prayers for the release of the South Koreans continue all around, the life of the hostages remains in peril, since the talks have ended without paying heed to the Taliban demands. Until anything comes out, all of us, particularly, the South Korean hostage families will remain on tenterhooks. Those who walked to freedom will like to forget the drama as a nightmare along with praying for the safety of their fellows still in Taliban captivity.
The Taliban is its own master that doesn’t shun hatred, violence and bloodshed rather promote and propagate it.
